Information systems are very important for business organization. The information systems in organizations offer various applications for implementing information systems successfully and this provides benefits for the organization as well as its employee’s performance. However, the failure rate regarding the information systems in business has been pleasing due to various reasons. Information system due to the lack of effectiveness, low quality business process reengineering, complications in information system software, overdependence on the intense customization of organization or process as well as due to the effective project management. There are various categories of information system failure including organization design, data used, cost of production of operational cost and also various issues in business operations.

The information system please official rule in business by providing various affective features related to hardware software as well as different non technical processes or services. An information system in business helps to provide numerous pieces of information regarding the organization that can be used in managing efficiently and effectively by using various computer systems and other technologies. Although, primary components of the business information system are includes software, hardware, data and procedure such as development design and documentation people. Therefore failure of any e components of the business information system results in complete system freeze, system crash or irreparable damages may also occur that leads to loss of data. Due to this reason any loss of business or personal data of the customer may therefore become more vulnerable for the business organization, improving business operations as well as maintaining organization replication.

Therefore this study is focused on discussing the various aspects of the information system failure including the key factors that lead to information system failure in organization, impact of the failure as well as discussing the tools and techniques that can be used to prevent failure as a procurement strategy for the business. The study therefore is aiming to review various IEEE journals and articles towards gathering information regarding the failure of the information system in organization.

2.0 Body

2.1 Key information system failure causing factors

The success and failure of information system are most prominent streams in this study. various literatures related to the information system has been evaluated in this study related to identify shoes of information system failure and the impact of these on organizations have been identified and address along with some advance technologies and tools that can offer various benefits towards mitigating causes of information system failure and preventing organizations in getting affected by the failure causing factors.

According to a study by Lazaros et al 2018, the information systems implementation and development in different projects often include different failures due to any operational issues or decision making process. These studies is related to educational organisations where it includes an information system for the students and the faculty where it provides video feedback as well as receive strategies video and voice over feedback screen cast video feedback. The information system classroom described in the literature helps to provide feedback to using graphical illustrations in order to improve the learning and teaching quality in educational organizations. in this study the information system is based on a web browser where the faculty members and create powerful visualization as well as taking voice information from the students as also act as a accounting functions for helping the organization to manage their resources and financial data. A study has found that when the feedback is clear with different types of information the students can make better use of their faculty or teacher’s feedback and cost effective pixel division from using the system[1]. However, it has also been found that providing a lack of information about why the student did may result in loss of interest in the feedback and also when the feedback is simple for the collective regarding any teacher's opinion.

Environmental factors- This are Involvement of user, Customer participation, client’s adoption, partnership with suppliers[2].

Product related factors- Output information, quality control, process documentation, output information.

Project team and management factors- This includes Extensive and robust project plan, project scheduling, skills and expertise of the project managers, planning for task, efficient teamwork.

2.2 Impact of information system failure

There can be various effects on business organizations regarding the information system failure. The previous section has discussed the various factors that impact on the information system and any failure of these factors may result in the complete business process order part of the business solution to be ineffective. Faulty in any information system components such as hardware or software as well as any manual fault can disrupt the business process and project management; it can increase the operational cost for the overall cost of the project. It also impacts on the customer’s perspective over the organizational reputation due to failure of quality control in any product or services offered by business organizations because of information system failure. Communication between the project team as well as the customers impacts a large number of people throughout the organization. Failure of the information system due to poor management also results in directing the project completion for increasing the duration of the project. in large enterprise project management result in various faults regarding the accountability e and manageability of the project and also may impact on the project planning and effective decision making process [3]. Therefore these needs to be mitigated by involving effective business procurement strategy through implementing different tools and techniques for mitigating the failure causing factor regarding the information systems.

2.3 Techniques and tools to prevent failure

In order to minimize the failure or error causing factors in managing information systems can be incorporated into the design and implementation process of the information system[4]. Engineer Ali two different types of control strategies can be deployed for preventing the failure of a business organization. These are as follows:

General control- this type of strategy it controls the design security as well as use of computational programs along with the data security of files throughout the organization to be measured. in order to incorporate this features organizations need to include physical hardware control, software control system, security of data files, computational operations control as well as controlling the overall system implementation process and various administrative discipline [5]. In order to improve the security organizations may involve different security protocols as well as data security policies for structuring their business process with efficient documentation and keeping track of each and every system log for improving the safety of the system. The organizations also need to perform strategic leadership management and involve skilled project managers in different projects for increasing the chances of successful projects by the organization and also cloud this storage system for storing the customers data and a separate storage system for tracking organizational transaction or business related data may increase the data security.

Application control- this type of control strategy is very much specific and unique to different computerized applications for example accounting information system, payroll management system, and involvement of customer relationship software order processing data computational management of data may lead to increase the accuracy of the input and also maintaining and updating the information system over the time[6]. Which proper tracking of data can also be very much effective in terms of validating the information system performance as well as the secure information[7]; Along with that the organizations also need to perform risk assessment on frequent basis so that different type of possible risk can be identified along with privatizing the race for making the implementation process match strategic.

3.0 Conclusion

The study has discussed various factors regarding the failure causing factors related to the information management process and also identifies the various impacts of failure of the information systems. The study has discussed that in order to reduce the rate of information systems it is necessary to implement various technological advancements as well as security protocols making data secure.
