Introduction of Marketflash Database and Dashboard Design Assignment
MarketFlash is a rapidly developing marketing company the owner of which is Markus who needed help in the designing and construction of a database and a matching dashboard. The company’s expansion pushed the need to transfer from the use of spreadsheets to a more compact database management. MarketFlash successfully extended 1000 campaigns for 78 clients in 2023 and all data is saved in a unique worksheet. Due to the work difficulty and loads of information generated and received in the campaigns, the client needed a database that would enable them to input the campaign information, client details and performance features. Also, Markus demanded a dashboard that would give complete visibility of business performances with an aim of enabling decision-making. The use of entities and their relationships in this project is an effort to establish proper functionalities where these entities are; campaigns, clients, employees, and the practical channels. With reference to the dashboard, it presents an overall figure, the results per channel, engagement statistics, trends, and the ROI summary.
Database Design
MySQL is used for the development of the database structure of the site called MarketFlash. The Entity-Relationship Diagram illustrates the relationships between four main entities. This is because it aligns the firm’s structure with its key constituents' approval Campaigns, Clients, Employees, and Channels. Every campaign matches the particular client, and every channel is connected to one campaign, employees work with campaigns and can oversee other employees (Zhou et al. 2022). To build the database, the database schema with tables for each entity and corresponding primary or foreign keys is designed.

Some of the important attributes are campaign ids, client ids, employee ids and channel ids. There are constraints, for example each campaign must belong to a client and must belong to a channel, this is important for data integrity. The design assists in organizing data as relates to the campaign, the client, the employees involved, and the individualities of the channel (Hadiwijaya and Azdy, 2021). For example, this format is fitting for meeting the company’s requirement for managing information in a structured way as well as gaining quick access to details about a marketing campaign.
Dashboard Design
Tableau was used in the creation of the dashboard for the MarketFlash. In the course of users’ requirements determination it was identified that there are certain requirements regarding campaign performance and business indicators. Such values as total spend, average spend, total engagements, average engagements, and conversions. ROI are some of the KPIs. Several visualization components of the dashboard allow presenting these KPIs effectively. There are basic statistics in a campaigns overview section.

The performance of the communication channels is as revealed in relative bar graphs. Results of engagement analytics are reported with the demo and client splits (Liu et al. 2022). Line graphs showing trends show the fluctuation in the company’s performance by showing trends that occur at the monthly or quarterly level. ROI evaluation is shown through cost per conversion and ROI per campaign statistics. Categorical presentation of the data and the general navigation of the dashboard area are also another strong point of the design (Ergasheva et al. 2020). This allows the MarketFlash team to easily analyze the campaign and make decisions concerning it without any difficulties.
Implementation
This development was done under MySQL Workbench. The tables for campaigns, clients, employees, and channels included the definition of primary and foreign keys for the records’ reliability. For example, sample records were created to be inserted in every table. General database functionality was checked using SQL queries. Thus, the dashboard was prepared from the worksheet data using the help of Tableau software (Dong et al. 2022). Pictures were used to present other essential and quantifiable figures, channel specifics, engagement figures and trends/return on investment data. Regarding the appearance of the dashboard, much attention was paid to simplicity in the design of the interface and readability of data to support decision-making.
Results and Benefits
The database performs the tasks effectively, which helps in storing and accessing the campaign, client, employee, and channel information systematically. This structure can also help in easy management of data and also reduces the level of difficulty that may be modelled by large volumes of information. The dashboard gives valuable information regarding the response of the campaign and metrics of the business. Metrics and values including total money, average money, total interaction, conversions, and total return on investment (ROI) are easily understandable (Cheddadi et al. 2020). Such tools as relative charts and trend analysis of graphs assist in systemizing the assessed material and tell the pattern and difference in performance between certain channels. This solidifies it possible to make strategic decisions on marketing plans with accurate information.
Conclusion
MarketFlash has a database of such information and an interaction dashboard which is quite insightful. Database design as used here places the means of data management and guarantees the data quality. It is used to determine the performance of a campaign as well as to look for trends regarding business quantitative measurements. All of these tools make it easier to provide rational data-driven improvements to the processes related to marketing, making them generally more effective. Another was to transfer the company from the use of spreadsheets in data management to a more elaborate system commonly referred to as MarketFlash to meet the company’s advancing needs. The mentioned setup takes care of future data handling and analysis needs in the best way possible.
