Introduction Of Unit 18:Research Project (Lo3 and Lo4)
Reflecting on the effectiveness of the research method used
The whole study based on the analysis of the challenges caused by the staff shortage was a very good learning experience. This was particularly because the reason that whole study was very helpful and it helped in learn new things which assisted in my personal and professional development. With the current study, I analysed that the most important aspect of the success of the study is to frame the objectives well (Roy and Uekusa, 2020). In case the aim and objectives of the study are not effective then it will affect the overall efficiency of the study. With this, I learnt that the effective setting up of the aim is very necessary and it is beneficial for making the study appropriate. It is crucial because when the objectives are set then it guides for the effective working of the study and accomplishing the objectives well.
Further, I learnt that reflecting on the performance and the project is very necessary as it will assist the company in managing the work well and trying to improve the learning. When the researcher works on a particular aspect then it increases the effective knowledge of the person and ultimately the overall learning and mind increases. The current study included the use of qualitative study and it helped analyse the concept well. With the help of the qualitative study, I was in a position to enhance my knowledge relating to the staff shortage and the challenges which the company faces due to the shortage of staff (Chika-James, 2020). In case there is less staff within the company then the overall efficiency of the business will be impacted and ultimate financial performance and capability will also be hampered. With this, I learnt that to be successful it is mandatory for the companies they effectively comply with the retention strategies so that the employees are happy and satisfied.
The benefit of using the qualitative study was that it assisted in effectively analysing the attitude and behaviour of the respondents towards the topic of the research. It is particularly because of the reason that when the effective analysis is undertaken then it ensures that the overall work is improved and the research topic is evaluated well (Frost, 2021). On the other hand, the drawback faced while conducting the qualitative study was that there are high chance of getting biased. It is due to the reason that when personal involvement is present then automatically it increases the biases of the researcher towards the research participant. Along with this, the decision relating to the selection of the appropriate sample is also an issue. It is because of the reason that when the effective sample will not be selected then the whole study will be affected (Neale, 2020). However, with this study, I analysed that the appropriateness of the data depends on the selection of the sample. In case the sample will not be appropriate then it will affect the whole data. In the current study, the random sampling method was effective because under this method all the participant have equal chance of getting selected and this is beneficial for the study. When the sample will be effective then automatically the objectives of the study will be better and will be conducted appropriately.
With further analysis, it was clear that the combination of the primary and secondary data is assistive to the researcher in accomplishing the aim and objectives of the study well. It is due to the reason that this combination provides a wider range of data and this assists in further working of the study well (Faller, Lundgren and Marsick, 2020). Moreover, in case the research needs to be done successfully then overall data must be effective and useful. When the data will not be appropriate then it will affect the efficiency of the whole study and the results will also be impacted. Thus, with this study, I analysed that selecting the best data sources is necessary for the success of the project. In case it will not be there then it will affect the overall efficiency of the study and ultimately the objectives will be attained well.

Alternative research methods
The current study, also evaluated that it was a very good learning experience and wide knowledge was increased with the help of this study based on challenges of shortage of staff. With this study, I evaluated that instead of using the qualitative study, compliance with a quantitative study would be much more beneficial. It is the reason that when the quantitative methods were implemented then the study would have become more scientific and as a result of this the overall objectives would have been accomplished well (Aaron et al, 2021). In case the numeric data is collected and evaluated with the help of the SPSS then it would have been improved in a better and effective manner. Along with this, compliance with SPSS would result in the application of different statistical functions which will make the study much better and effective. All the necessary objectives will be attained well and with effective scientific methods and principles.
Further, the study also assisted me in analysing the fact that compliance with the current study was a very good learning experience and many different skills were also enhanced. It is due to the reason that with the current study, I was in a position to enhance my communication skills. With the collection of the primary data, I enhanced my communication skills as I needed to effectively communicate with the research participants for collecting the data. Thus, it increased my communication skills as I was in a position to communicate with unknown people in a better and more effective way (Clark et al, 2021). Moreover, I learnt that to make the study successful, the researcher needs to analyse the authenticity of the data sources well. This is due to the reason that the whole study is dependent on the data only and in case data will not be appropriate then the study objectives will not be accomplished well. Thus, with this study, I analysed that to ensure the authenticity of the data source, the copyright of the website needs to be analysed. When the website has any type of intellectual property right then it will ensure that the website is providing authentic and reliable data only.
Moreover, the current study based on the analysis of challenges due to staff shortage, analysed that possessing coordination skills is very necessary. It is due to the reason that in case the work is not accomplished in a coordinated manner then the whole study would have been delayed. This is due to the reason that every stage of the research is interconnected and dependent on the successful completion of the previous stage (Dawadi, Shrestha and Giri, 2021). Thus, with this study, I was in a position to manage the work well and with help of the effective coordination skills I tried to accomplish the study well. Moreover, when the effective coordination skill is present then the researcher is in a position to accomplish the study well and try to get the intended results.
Further, the study analysed that to improve my future studies I need to work on improving my time management skills. This is because of the reason that I got a little delayed in collecting the data from the primary respondents. Thus, as a result of this, the overall study could have been delayed but somehow I tried to complete the study on time (Vasciuc, 2020). But there is a high necessity of working on the improvement of the time management skill. It is due to the reason that in case work will not be accomplished on time then it will be affecting the efficiency of the study. Thus, when I am in a position to conduct the study on time or before time then it will be helpful for me to recheck the assignment well.
