The appropriate use of verbal and written language and integrity in handling or disclosing clients' information are paramount to guaranteeing excellent care and efficient functioning for an entire shift. At my workplace, I always ensure that I am very careful while communicating and avoid cases of confusion as much as possible. For instance, during shift delegate, I give a comprehensive report on each of the service users' well-being, care requirements, and changes noted. In the case related to the description of interactions with the incoming staff, I apply both oral and written means for providing information about the current state of affairs. This enables the doctor to avoid confusion and know the progress that various patients have been through hence improving the rate of care.
Dealing with information is also equally significant. I make it a point to record all care activities and also observations and any incident in the service user's records. It is not only beneficial for the care team to be informed of the resident's status but also useful for maintaining the legal and regulatory standards needed. I ensure privacy by ensuring that records are stored securely and dissemination of information only being granted to the right people.
