Introduction Of: Bali Tourism Mini-website
Task 1: Specification
Tech Brains Ltd. has been considered to develop a website for an organization which wants the website to provide visitors with useful information on travel and tourism in different countries in the world. The following report aims to present the concept of Bali tourism mini-site to the public. The goal of the website is to be a one-stop resource for planning travel to Bali, as it provides information about the island, what to do while there, and what to expect.

Objectives and Goals
The purpose of the proposed Bali tourism mini-site is to ensure that intending tourists and travelers about the island have optimum, current information about Bali as a tourist paradise.
The specific goals of the website are:
- To provide content that is stimulating along with being worth the tourists’ time and efforts, so that it caters to the interests of exciting adventurers and luxury lovers.
- To help users with the planning and advice on where to stay, how to get there and what cultural peculiarities to expect.
- To act as a travel guide which provides explanations of Bali’s most popular tourist destinations.
- To meet requirements that targets all types of possible tourists including both adventure tourists and luxury travelers.
Target Audience and User Personas
The proposed mini-site targets two major types of users: the adventure seeker and the luxury traveler.

The adventure seeker is younger between 25-35 years, often a young backpacker, a rather more price sensitive traveler. This type of traveler cares for tourism activities like hiking, surfing, diving as well as visiting nature reserves. Again, they are adventurous and maybe, would want simple and local accommodation, rather than luxurious hotels and guest houses. The target audience is the adventure seeker who would require useful tips and recommendations on hobbies related to outdoor activities such as hiking, surfing and tour guide to Bali’s hill stations, beach locations and beautiful waterfalls. Their main problem is a lack of resources for affordable and off-the-beaten-path content.

The luxury travelers are between the ages of 35-50 years and are relatively more rich. This persona loves traveling to specifically selected places and avoiding mediocre hotels and restaurants; spas; art galleries, and operas. This kind of traveler is business-oriented, and is willing to pay for a better travel experience without having to worry much or stress. The luxury traveler is in most cases seeking advice regarding five star hotels, private villas, fine dining restaurants and spas. With these concerns in mind the mini-site will be targeting the users who would need the following services with some more precision; reviews of luxury resorts, and how to stay in the luxury side of Bali.
Provisional Site Structure
The structural plan of the mini-site is going to be outlined in six principal sections, each of which will be devoted to a particular aspect of the Bali tourism sector. The home page will serve as an introduction of Bali for travelers and tourists including headlines and links to other parts of the website. This page will welcome the users to the nature and types of experience the island offers them; cultural, nature and adventure tourism and connect the users to other pages.
The first content page will be about Bali top activity, which will contain relevant guides to visit places like Ubud, Tanah Lot, and Uluwatu Temple. The second page will be dedicated to Adventure and Nature where Page visitors will find information about hiking, surfing and visiting natural attractions, and waterfalls. This particular page shall serve tourists and adventurers in particular.
The third content web page is going to be focused on luxury travels, where one can find information about finest hotels, restaurants, and spa. Being a guide for high-end travelers, this page will offer them well-selected tours based on leisure and luxury. The fourth content page will be a supporting guide for the traveler and will contain relevant information on visas, transportation, local customs and good time to visit Bali.
Lastly, a contact us page will also be integrated on the website and from this link users can submit their queries or even give feedback or request for the recommended itineraries. This should prove useful in collecting user interest and provide more customized services.
Functional Specifications
HTML and CSS will be used in construction of the Bali mini-site so its functionality could be clean and multi-adaptive; this means it can be viewed on desktop, tablet, as well as in a smartphone. The website will also have an easy to understand and navigate top navigation bar, through which users can explore across different pages of the site. The pages will contain high-quality images of Bali places of interest. This condition makes certain that the site looks good while performing optimally in the end.
As for the input validation the contact form will have JavaScript based validations for the proper submission of the form inputs by the users. The form will be simple and will only require the and the email address of the visitor, and a message which allows other visitors to contact with feedback or questions.
Competitor Analysis
Analyzing the current competitors of the Bali mini-site, it will be significant to mention that this site will be actually different from other typical travel sites which exist nowadays and provide only the list of popular services. For example, there is the official site of Bali tourism, Bali.com containing the complete information about tours and places to stay in Bali. It is designed somewhat traditionally, though too much information makes the site feel rather messy (bali.com, 2024). The design of the proposed Bali mini-site will resolve this problem by presenting a minimalist and sleek design which features easy to follow segments that are well grouped and well laid out.
Another competitor is the Lonely Planet Bali Guide which is a well designed and well written source for in-depth articles and detailed guides to traveling. But at present, Lonely Planet provides more text-based information than interactive content (lonelyplanet.com, 2024). The proposed mini-site would be able to cater to more interactivity as compared to the current Travel Asia mini-site, through the integration of more features that include user generated content, Blog traveling, and creation of travel itineraries by the users.
The proposed BALI tourism mini-site provides comprehensive information about traveling to Bali and a balanced approach towards extreme tourists and high-end tourists. Moreover, it incorporates both the functionality of a practical travel guide and brightly designed content to meet the user’s needs. Thus, with proper image in its design and high usability, the website should be established as the popular information source for those who are going to visit Bali. This organizational design makes it easy to navigate, giving prospects a useful tool to plan their visit while the options for engagement with the users enhance its competitiveness against other applications.
Task 2: Development of a Mini Travel Website
In Task 2, the goal was to create a five page website for a particular tourist niche, Bali using the HTML and CSS. This website would further function as a mini-site for the extensive and eager travelers who come in search of information about Bali’s sight-seeing tour, adventurous packages, luxury tourism and those navigation tips any unfamiliar tourist would require. It also meant that there needs to be a functional contact that allows users to engage with the site and submit questions or feedback if needed.
The development process began with the creation of five distinct web pages: a home page, a page that presents the best places to visit, an adventure and nature, luxury and wellness, a travel tips page, and a contact page. Every single page developed was created with comprehensive and unique information for tourists who may wish to visit Bali. All the text and images provided were designed to provide the information within the given constraints of creating fresh content and utilizing only free of copyright images.
The layout and design of the website were created anew with HTML and CSS languages and no frameworks and templates are used. This way, the developer was able to prove knowledge of complex hand-coding for the WEB parts and make the design adaptable to different sorts of devices, starting with large monitors and up to the smallest portable device. The structure of the website’s navigation bar allowed for simple changes between the pages as it would highlight which particular page one was viewing under the effects of the “active state.”
As for the appearance, organized structure was applied to the body, navigation, and footer throughout all the pages; the goal was set at a professional-friendly design oriented towards simplicity. Media queries on CSS were used to enable the creation of a responsive website that would translate easily across other devices. For example, the layout of the same page was shifted on the smartphone and it is admitted that the navigation links were shifted to be in the vertical order while the design on the desktop was kept in the horizontal order but with more spaces between such links. Concerning graphic designs, images were scaled to fit the size of screens; text displayed in appropriate formats across respective devices.
One of the tasks was to make a user-friendly and functional website which also became an essential requirement. This form is designed to be placed on the contact page as a means of input where users type their , email, subject, and message. This form was also designed to have its general layout complement the general layout of the website that it shall be a part of, it also adopted features such as making certain fields as mandatory so as to prevent users from submitting the form before filling all the mandatory fields. The employment of CSS also made the form elements style-friendly with clear labels, accurate input forms and a responsive design.
The other additions that were made to improve the user interphase include the active state of the navigation bar. When the current page is distinguished, users also know which area of the site they are in, which is convenient for moving around in. This was done by assigning a different style to the navigation links as associated with the current published page so as to differentiate it from the other links.

Task 3: Website Usability & Accessibility
Usability test of the website, Accessibility test of the website and Cross browser/Test on different devices were done. The evaluation activities sought to establish whether the site provided optimally for users to access as well as how the site responded to different platforms and screen sizes.
The website was tested on three major browsers: For Android, they include Google Chrome, for Windows; Microsoft Edge, and for the Mozilla Firefox; Brave, so as to ensure that a user is able to interact with the browser irrespective of the operating system they are using. To ensure that the website design is responsive the tests were conducted on desktop computers, tablets and smartphones. When it came to its responsiveness, the site was responsive to any screen size and any desktop, tablet, ranging from the iPad Pro, to iPhone 14 pro max and many others. There was an issue of the java script delay on the functionality of the website on tablet and the mobile. The problem is solved by adding responsive design which makes the web site easily usable on such devices as mobiles and tables. The HTML and CSS of the website were checked using the W3C Markup and CSS Validation services.
