TASK 1

Business case

project title: "Lancs Life”
Project aim: the current project aims to effectively deliver the music festival d Lancs Life within Townley Park
Project objective
  • The objective of the current project is to promote live music by hosting a music event at Townley Park in Burnley.
  • Another objective of the current project is to promote local bands in Lancashire to promote the concept of live music.
Project deliverable
  • The major deliverable of the project is to promote live music among the people so that local music is promoted.
  • Another deliverable of the current project is that this event is organised as a not-for-profit purpose and all the excess revenue will be donated to charities within Lancashire.
Benefits
  • Promoting the local music among the people so that the local rituals and working of the community are promoted among youth.
Constraint
  • The major constraint in the current project is related to the cost that is whether the project will be accomplished at the given cost or not.

Further to make the project successful an effective type of methodology for completing the project must be used. For the organising of the current project of a music event, the methodology of Agile is most suitable. It is a type of methodology which aims at breaking the project into smaller phases so that the project objectives can be attained. The major focus of this methodology is on continuous collaboration and on improving the working of the project (Ulusoy et al, 2021). The rationale for selecting the current methodology is that it makes the work much simpler by breaking the work into smaller stages and helps in the successful completion of the project. For example, Cisco has also shifted to agile to make the billing better. This has benefitted the company well and as a result of this, they can manage the working better and attain more profits. Similarly, complying with Agile will benefit the current event of music by providing better planning and will help in accomplishing the planned objectives.

Path 1

1, 2, 9, 10

1 + 14 + 5 + 44= 64 days

Path 2

1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10

1 + 14 + 8 + 7 + 5 + 44= 79 days

Path 3

1,4,5,6,9,10

1 + 8 + 7 + 28 + 5 + 44 = 93 days

Path 4

1, 5, 6, 9, 10

1 + 7 + 28 + 5 + 44 = 85 days

Path 5

1, 2, 4, 9, 10

1 + 14 + 8 + 5 + 44= 72 days

Thus, with the analysis of the above table, it is clear that the critical path is path 1 as this is the shortest period in which the objectives will be attained (Soleymani et al, 2022). However, the total time duration for the completion of the project is 272 days which is far more than the critical path. Thus, when the company follows the critical path 1 then the objectives of the project will be attained and project will become successful.

TASK 4

Undertaking stakeholder analysis

Stakeholder Type Power Interest Communication strategy /engagement plan
Project manager Internal High High Twice written reporting in a day is done to the project manager for every work done.

Technical High Moderate For this, a sound research and development department is recruited who work on assessing the technical changes within the environment and implementing the necessary changes.
Operational Low Moderate For this, the operational manager is recruited who oversee all the operational activities and related aspects.
Strategic Low Low To mitigate this, the strategic officer is hired who checks that every strategy is implemented in the intended manner and also the objective is attained appropriately.
Market change Moderate High For this good research analyst will be recruited who will evaluate every market change and in case it will be relevant for the company then it will be implemented (Nwadigo et al, 2022).
Change in need of employees High High For this, a coordinator will be recruited who will take feedback from employees at every month's end to know their opinions relating to the company and its policies.

Compliance Low Low For this, every month compliance report will be prepared which will ensure that every rule and law is complied well or not.

TASK 6

Quality expectation, acceptance criteria, quality specification and control measures

Quality expectation Acceptance criteria Quality specification
For making the project successful the quality must be maintained. The quality expectation is stated as the aspect which needs to be followed to ensure that project objectives are set effectively (El-Khatib et al, 2023). The quality expectations which need to be fulfilled for Lancs Life are as follows-
  1. Generate maximum tickets
  2. Enhanced publicity of local live music
  3. Attaining better selling of more tickets
  4. Certifications for event
  5. Effective designing of the area of the event
The criteria for acceptance are defined as the aspects which need to be fulfilled to make the project successful. In the current case of Lancs Life the acceptance criteria for getting successful are as follows-
  1. All the tickets are sold
  2. An effective user acceptance process is followed (Isah and Kim, 2021).
  3. Proper arrangement for food and water is also made during the event.
  4. Compliance with all health and safety aspects is present
  5. Project sign off
It is stated as the necessary aspect of quality so that the objective of the project can be attained well (Ongpeng et al, 2021). In case quality specifications are not met well then it will impact the overall working. The quality specifications are as follows-
  1. There will not be any technical breakdown during the event
  2. A good environment will be created
  3. Snacks and water will be available throughout the event
  4. Work to be accomplished in estimated cost only
  5. Estimated that activities will go as per the plan.

Control measure- this is the most critical step in making the project successful. If case-effective controlling is not done well then it will affect the work and might be possible that the project is not accomplished well (Dasović and Klanšek, 2021). To control the current project of a music festival, compliance with benchmarking is made. Under this method, various benchmarks are set and the actual performance is compared against it. The different control measures are as follows-

  1. Ensuring risk management is followed well
  2. Proper regulatory compliance is made and ensured that all health and safety issues are checked
  3. Proper budgets are set so that work is managed well.
  4. Effective KPI and other benchmarks are set so that performance can be analysed
  5. Clear and effective communication is made throughout the organising of the event.

CONCLUSION

Lastly it is concluded that applying the project management knowledge is very crucial for making the project successful. The study highlighted that complying with project management, the business case is developed and also the working is improved. Moreover, the different stakeholder were identified along with the ways of engagement like the direct communication, through mail and other ways.
