Project management is defined as the application of the methods and processes which are helpful to the business in managing and attaining the objectives well. The current report will outline the detailed project plan, including the stakeholder analysis, risk assessment plan, critical path method and other related decisions. It will also outline the research methodology, assisting to the company in analysing the stakeholder satisfaction for the success of the project.

Project aim and objectives

The current project is based on the extension of the cardiac unit of Bolton General Hospital which is situated in Greater Manchester. The number of patients coming to the hospital is increasing and as a result of this, the number of beds and place has reduced. Thus, the objective of the current project is to extend the space for cardiac unit within the hospital so that more patients having hard conditions can be admitted within the hospital.

Overview of the project

The current project includes the extension of the space for the cardiac unit within the hospital. In the Bolton General Hospital, the cardiac unit is small and the number of patients coming is increasing. Hence, it is very necessary for the hospital to manage or increase the space so that more patients can be admitted within the hospital. The major project here is to enlarge the capacity relating to the cardiac unit so that majority of the patients can be admitted (Guo and Zhang, 2022). In addition to this, the current project focuses on increasing the facility of the hospital so that majority of the community can take benefit of it. It includes extension of the cardiac units so that more of the people can stay healthy and happy with the services provided by the hospital.

Stakeholder analysis

Stakeholders are the people who are interested in the performance of the company. For making any project successful it is very necessary that the appropriate stakeholder analysis is conducted. The stakeholder analysis is conducted in order to keep the stakeholders happy and satisfied with the project so that the overall project can be accomplished. The stakeholder analysis for the current project of extension of cardiac unit includes the following-

According to the stakeholder analysis the keep satisfied are the people who are having low interest but high power within the company. In the present case of extension of stakeholders who come under the category of keep satisfied includes sponsors, management team and others. In addition to this managed closely are the stakeholders who have both high power and high interest in the project. The people belonging to this category include the top management and the project manager who takes all the decisions of the project (Reiff and Schlegel, 2022). Along with this another category include monitor which includes people having both low interest and low power within the project. In the present case the project team who is actually performing the task comes under the category of the monitor as they have less power and less interest in the working. Furthermore the keep informed is the category which includes people having high interest and low power. This category includes people like government, competitors and other related parties who have high interest within the working of the hospital but do not have a much power.

Analysis of required resources

For the success of the project it is very necessary that the resources are managed effectively. In case resources will not be managed efficiently than the project might not get successful. Thus, it is very necessary for the project manager that they make the resources available on time and with easy access. In case the resources will not be easily accessible then it will be affecting the completion of the project. Hence, resultantly the project objectives might not be accomplished and it can affect the overall working of the project (Moradi, Kähkönen and Aaltonen, 2020). The major resources which are required to accomplish the extension of the cardiac unit include manpower, finance, legal aspects, technical aspects, land and much other different kind of resources. All these resources are necessary for the successful accomplishment of the building of new cardiac unit within the hospital. In case these resources will not be managed efficiently than it will be impacting the overall working capability of the project and the project will not become successful.

Risk assessment plan

For the successful completing of the project it is necessary that the risk is identified effectively. There are many different kind of risk with the project might face and it can impact the overall working of the company (Shaqour, 2022). This it is necessary and mandatory for the project manager that the effectively analyse the risk so that the overall working can be improved. The risk mitigation and management plan for the project of extending the cardiac unit includes the following-

With the evaluation of the Gantt chart it is clearly evident that scheduling of the entire task in a sequential order is very necessary. This is particularly because of the reason that it guides the project manager in evaluating that which step will be undertaken after completing the step (Almashhadani and Almashhadani, 2023). Also it provides a direction to the project manager in accomplishing all the objectives easily and effectively. Moreover when the clear schedule is done then it provides appropriate guidance of work and there is clarity of work present which in turn assist in successful accomplishment of the objectives.

Supporting documentation

With all these elements there are some necessary documents as well which needs to be effectively attached with the project plan. It is very necessary for the project manager to effectively arrange for all these documents so that the overall working can be managed effectively. It is particularly necessary because when these documents will not be provided then it will be impacting the overall working of the project plan. The necessary documentations which are required with the project plan include the project charter, the communication strategy plan, risk management plan, stakeholder analysis plan and some other different kind of documentation (Hair and Sarstedt, 2021). In addition to this schedule that is the Gantt chart is also required in documentation so that whole plan can be easily accessible to the person for reviewing it. These documents provide the detailed information relating to the whole plan and it is easier for the people to manage the whole project easily and effectively. In addition to this, the management structure and the division of the team must also be documented so that there is clarity of work. When the work is properly managed then it will be improving the working capability. Hence, it is mandatory for the project manager to document all these aspects easily and effectively so that overall working can be improved.

Evaluation of research methodology for determining stakeholder satisfaction

For making the project successful it is very necessary that the stakeholders of the project are satisfied. The stakeholders are the people who actually are interested in the success of the project. Thus, keeping the stakeholders satisfied is very necessary for making the whole projects successful. The reason underlying the fact is that when the strategies are framed effectively then it will automatically keep the stakeholders satisfied. Hence, the research methodology which will be used to determine the satisfaction of the stakeholders is the personal interview with the stakeholders (El Khatib and Al Falasi, 2021). The researcher will conduct the personal interview wherein the researcher will ask different questions relating to the project and its completion stages. Hence, it will help the researcher in identifying the level of satisfaction by viewing the answers provided by the stakeholders. Hence, this methodology will be helpful to the researcher as they will be able to gain insight relating to the views of these stakeholders relating to the whole project.

In the end it is concluded that project management is defined as the application of various knowledge and concepts relating to the effective completion of the projects. It is particularly necessary for the successful working of the project the application of project management is implemented effectively. The above study highlighted that the project relates to extending the cardiac unit within the Bolton General Hospital. All ready the patients are increasing and as a result of this the place for patient is less. Hence, it is necessary for the hospital that they enhance the space so that the overall patient can be admitted within the hospital. The study highlighted that analysing the need and requirements of stakeholders is necessary and use of appropriate resources is also necessary to complete the objectives of the study. These resources include technical resources, financial, manpower and many other different resources. It was also evaluated that analysing the risk is necessary and the major risk identified included financial, technical and others. Moreover the project also outlined that some supporting documentations are also required which includes risk management plan, team division and many other different documents. In the end it was evaluated that with help of the personal interview the determination of stakeholders' satisfaction is implemented by the current project.
